This is our process:
I. Book the date.
You’ve seen my work and connected with my style. The next step is getting to know each other. We can set up a call, zoom meeting, or continue the conversation by email so you can share all the details about your wedding day. We’ll talk through my collections, and figure out which option best fits your plans. I’m happy to answer any questions along the way.
After our consult, I’ll follow up with your photography agreement, an invoice with retainer details, and two wedding questionnaires. This allows you to share everything I need to know, including your family photo list, vendor information, and all the important details that will help your day run smoothly.
II. POst Booking
My role as your photographer goes far beyond simply showing up on your wedding day. I’m here to support you throughout the entire process, answering your questions, helping plan a realistic timeline, and making sure photography fits seamlessly into the flow of your day. Whether you need location suggestions or a second opinion on which dress to wear for your engagement session, I’m always just a message away.
III. Engagement Shoot
All of my packages include a complimentary engagement session. Beforehand, we’ll work together to choose the perfect location and a time that works best for both of us. I always recommend selecting a place that feels meaningful to you, but if you’re unsure, I’m happy to suggest locations based on the look and vibe you’re drawn to. Engagement sessions are a great way for us to get to know each other and for you to experience my shooting and editing style before your wedding day.
IV. Leading Up to the Big Day
As your wedding year begins, I’ll reach out to check in and make sure all of your plans are coming together as expected. Once your details are finalized, we’ll work together to create your day-of timeline and you’ll send over your final family photo list. I’ll check in again at six and two months before your wedding, and once more two weeks out, to make sure nothing has changed. Clear communication is key to a smooth, stress free wedding day, and ensures everything is thoughtfully planned with no surprises.
V. Image Delivery
You’re officially married and ready to relive your day through your photos. Within 72 hours of your wedding, I’ll send a selection of teaser images. Your full online gallery will be delivered within 12 to 14 weeks. Along with your gallery, you’ll receive clear instructions on how to download your images and how to order albums or prints if you choose. Everything can be easily done directly through the gallery, and I’m always happy to set up a meeting to walk through your options if needed.
FAQ
How does this work? We've never hired a photographer before.
People often don’t realize this until after they’re married, but your photographer is the one person you spend the most time with on your wedding day. Because of that, it’s incredibly important to choose someone you genuinely trust and feel completely comfortable with.
The best way to see if we’re a great fit is to reach out. Send me an email and we can set up a time to chat in whatever way feels best for you, whether that’s over email, in person, or on the phone.
If you decide you’d like to move forward and book me as your wedding photographer, I’ll need two things to officially reserve your date:
• a 35% non-refundable retainer
• a signed contract (more details on that below)
And then we celebrate.
From that point on, I’m with you every step of the way. I’ll offer guidance and support throughout the planning process, help connect you with other vendors who align with your vision, and be right there cheering you on as everything comes together. I will absolutely get over-the-moon when you send me photos of your dress, because that’s the kind of relationship I love having with my couples.
The sooner you reach out, the sooner we can connect and see if we’re meant to work together.
How many years have you been photographing weddings?
After graduating from Georgian College in 2015, I was mentored as a second shooter under a wedding photographer I admire. During that time, I also photographed weddings for established wedding companies, gaining experience working within fast-paced environments, large teams, and a wide variety of wedding styles and venues.
Once I felt confident branching out on my own, I began building my wedding and branding photography business with intention. I have been working in the industry full time ever since, combining my technical foundation with a calm, storytelling-driven approach. My background allows me to move through wedding days with confidence and care, ensuring couples feel supported from planning through final delivery.
what type of equipment do you use?
I photograph weddings using professional Canon equipment, including the Canon R5 and Canon R6 camera bodies, along with a full range of professional prime and zoom lenses. I also use professional lighting equipment and modifiers when needed to ensure consistent results in any environment.
To be extra cautious, I always carry backup camera bodies, lenses, and lighting on every wedding day, so you never need to worry about equipment failure.
After your wedding, your images are protected through a layered backup system. Files are immediately backed up across multiple hard drives, and original SD cards are safely retained until final gallery and album delivery. This ensures your images are protected from the moment they are captured through final delivery.
Why do your packages cost what they do?
When you book me, you’re investing in far more than the hours spent photographing your wedding day.
While wedding coverage itself may be 8–10 hours, the total time invested in each wedding is typically 40–60+ hours from start to finish. A significant portion of that work happens before and after the wedding day.
This time includes:
Initial inquiries, consultations, and ongoing communication
Planning support, timeline guidance, and preparation leading up to the wedding
Engagement session planning, shooting, and editing (when included)
Wedding day coverage
Culling thousands of images
Hand-editing your final gallery in my signature style
Film shooting, developing, scanning, and integration (when included)
Gallery preparation, delivery, archiving, and long-term backups
Administrative work and client support throughout the entire process
Beyond time, pricing also reflects the experience I bring to every wedding. Knowing how to work in all lighting conditions, manage fast-moving timelines, and capture real moments as they unfold comes from years of experience and ongoing education.
Running a professional photography business also involves significant ongoing costs, including professional equipment and backups, editing software, secure image storage, insurance, education, and taxes. These are all part of delivering a reliable, high-quality experience from start to finish.
I intentionally take on a limited number of weddings each year so I can give every couple the time, care, and attention they deserve, and deliver work that feels consistent, thoughtful, and timeless.
What if our budget is lower than your pricing?
First and foremost, my collections are not a one-size-fits-all solution. Every wedding day is different, and I never want to turn away an incredible couple without first having a conversation.
That’s why connecting directly is so important. It gives me the opportunity to listen to what you’re truly looking for and thoughtfully suggest ways we can move forward together. In many cases, that might look like adjusting coverage time or tailoring a collection to better fit your priorities, while still ensuring the level of care, creativity, and attention my work is known for.
At the end of the day, I genuinely love what I do and value working with couples who appreciate the time, intention, and experience that goes into documenting their wedding day. If that sounds like you, I’d love to connect. Let’s chat and see what we can create together.
Can we book you for only a few hours?
Absolutely - Feel free to reach out for a custom quote.
how long does it take to receive the final edited photos?
I understand the anticipation of seeing your final photos. I deliver sneak peeks within 72hrs so you have images to post shortly after your wedding. The rest of the editing process typically takes up to 12 weeks, depending on the volume of images and the complexity of editing required. I prioritize quality and attention to detail to deliver exceptional images that exceed your expectations.
How much do you edit your photos?
I would say 70% of the way my photos look comes down to my editing process. Each photo receives basic colour correction, cropping, adjustments for lighting etc, as well as a custom colour grading to give you the vibe you see in my portfolio.
Do you charge a travel fee for weddings outside of Barrie?
Yes. For weddings 50KM outside of Barrie or more, a travel fee of $0.75 per kilometre applies. For events located more than 200 km away one way (400 km round trip), an additional fee of $300 per staff member, per day, applies to cover travel time and meals. Any required hotel accommodations are billed separately and will be added to the final invoice. All travel details are discussed in advance so everything is clear and transparent.
what happens if there is an extreme emergency and you cannot photograph our wedding?
In the case of an extreme emergency such as severe illness or injury and I am unable to photograph your wedding, the second photographer becomes the primary photographer, or a fill - in photographer will be scheduled if a second has not been booked. If a second photographer has been booked and becomes the primary photographer, a new second photographer will join them. All my hired photographers are professionals that meet my strict standards of training, quality, professionalism and similar shooting style.
what happens if I need to cancel my wedding or change the wedding date?
When you book your wedding date, the 35% retainer secures that date exclusively for you. Once a date is reserved, I turn away other inquiries for that day and begin dedicating time to your wedding through planning, communication, timeline guidance, and preparation well in advance of the wedding itself.
Because weddings are booked far ahead and dates cannot always be re-booked, the retainer and any payments made up until the cancellation date are non-refundable. This policy helps protect the time, planning, and income already committed to your wedding, even if the event ultimately does not take place.
If your wedding needs to be postponed, I am always happy to discuss options where possible and will do my best to accommodate a new date based on availability. My goal is always to be fair and understanding, while also ensuring my small business remains sustainable.
what forms of payment do you take?
I accept cash or credit card. A signed contract and a 35% non - refundable retainer is required to book and secure your wedding date and time.
can I print the photographs on my own? do I own them?
You are free to print and use your images for personal use in any way you choose. While I retain the copyright to all photographs, you are not required to purchase prints or albums through me. I believe you should have the flexibility to decide how your images are printed and shared for personal use. If you prefer a professionally curated option, albums and photo boxes are available as optional add ons to any package.
